- IIS Server Add firewall rules for RDP (3389 TCP and UDP), ping(ICMP), port 8090 (if search on same server), port 80 and 443 (both TCP)
- File Server allow firewall rules for inbound RDP(3389 TCP and UDP), ping(ICMP), ports 139TCP , 445 TCP, 137 UDP, 138 UDP
- Distributed Service Host Machines Add firewall rules for RDP(3389 TCP and UDP), ping(ICMP), ports 10101-10105 (All TCP)
- SQL Server Login: A seperate SQL Server account is necessary, Venio is not compatible with Windows Authentication.
- SQL Server Authentication: Venio is explicitly designed to utilize SQL Server Authentication.
- Reasons for SQL Server Authentication Design:
- Ease of Setup: Simplifies the installation process.
- Compatibility: Ensures compatibility across various environments.
- Legacy Codebase Constraints: Accommodates existing legacy systems.
- Non-Support for Windows Authentication:
- Venio does not support SQL Server authentication using Windows Authentication (AD accounts).
- SQL Server Login Requirement: A SQL Server sysadmin account for Venio is mandatory.
- Irrespective of AD Account Privileges: A seperate SQL Authentication account is required regardless of privileges applied to the Venio AD service account.
